We’ve decided we’re going to vlog our transition into full time RV living for the next 30 days. In this episode we are forced through a low clearance tunnel and drop off the trailer at our first host’s house.

RV Tire Pressure Monitoring System Installation + SIMULATED LEAK!

More information about Tire Minder
www.minderresearch.com

With a long rig I knew we would want a tire pressure monitoring system. I did some research, and Tire Minder kept coming up again and again. After talking with the company, they sent us a whole system for the RV and trailer. The peace of mind is nice, since the trailer tires are 65′ back, and could potentially blow without noticing on a rig this size. Thank you Minder Research!

Uh, Yea…It’s Pretty BIG | Pre-Tour of Our New Trailer!!

The Ultimate Mobile Workshop trailer has been delivered! It turned out so much better than we could have hoped. Now we get to the fun part of building out the whole interior with benches, cabinets, and storage.

The biggest thank you to Lark United Manufacturing!

RV’s – The Ultimate Money Pit?

We we bought our Monaco Dynasty, we knew any RV would be a money pit. There are simply so many systems on an motorhome that something is bound to break semi-frequently. I guess we just weren’t quite prepared for the “never caught up” aspect of RVing.

Since buying our RV in the spring we’ve fixed the refrigerator, floor, hot water heater, roof and dash AC, stereo system, suspension bushings, and all fluids/belts. We can now add to that list a roof leak… Our total repairs so far have cost over $6800 dollars and we don’t even live in it yet!

A Bad DIY Day…

This was my second attempt changing out the bushings in our 1999 Monaco Dynasty. I should have learned my lesson the first time. Maybe I’m being a little dramatic, but nothing is more frustrating than spending all day on a project only to end up worse off.

I took the RV to a semi-truck suspension shop and they are having an extremely hard time. I feel a little better knowing that it was a difficult job for a reason, but I’m not looking forward to the extra hours on the bill.

Drain Cleaner as Wood Stain?

For some reason my camera didn’t record that I used a very diluted lye/water mix AFTER applying the stain to make the wood appear a little darker. That’s why the cut to the polyurethane looked a little darker. It didn’t work as well as using lye directly on the cherry, but it helped a little when things weren’t looking right.

Our DREAM Mobile Workshop Is Happening!

Huge news…Lark United Trailers has agreed to help us build the ultimate mobile workshop from scratch! This is obviously very exciting, but we also want to make sure we think of everything possible BEFORE they start construction.

If you could build your dream mobile workshop, what features would you include? How would you organize it? How would you modify the trailer itself to be more comfortable to work in?
